Who can benefit from Chiropractic?

  • Babies and children as they grow and their neuromusculoskeletal systems develop.
  • Pregnant women that suffer with low back pain
  • Office workers that sit at their desks/computers for prolonged periods of time. They often complain of neck and mid back pain.
  • Factory workers that perform repetitive activities for long hours.
  • Athletes who suffer from sporting injuries and that strive to improve performance.

What can cause musculoskeletal conditions/back pain?

Incorrect lifting of heavy objects, trauma such as a fall or motor vehicle accident can cause the spinal vertebrae to become misaligned and restrict movement. Overuse of muscles or joints and tasks of daily living may also cause back pain, especially occupations that require prolonged sitting and riving. Fixed or jammed joints can lead to inflammation of the joint as well as the surrounding muscle, which then leads to trigger point (“knot”) formation. These trigger points result in pain locally and may refer pain to other parts of the body.

What does the research say?

The British Medical Journal in recent years found that Chiropractic treatment produces superior results in terms of safety, effectiveness, economical and patient satisfaction. With Chiropractic treatment, it has been observed that patients take fewer days of sick leave, less time incapacitated, decrease medication intake, have less chance of needing back and have a decreased chance of becoming a chronic condition.
